What are Ruggable rugs made of?
Our Classic and Cushioned Rug Pads consist of a 100% recycled polyester surface and a thermoplastic rubber bottom, a latex-free, synthetic material most commonly used in yoga mats. Our Cushioned Rug Pads have an additional 100% recycled polyester middle layer for added cushion.
What is the deal with Ruggable?
Ruggable’s kind of claim-to-fame is that they are rugs you can wash. They are thin rugs made of polyester with a polyurethane water-resistant barrier that come with a removable pad. The rug on top of the pad can be removed and added to the washing machine just like a blanket – including the 8×10.
Are Ruggable worth it?
If you want ultimate ease of use, we say yes, Ruggable is worth it. Bottom line: If you are prone to spills or stains on your rugs, Ruggable washable rugs are an excellent solution. We love that they have styles and sizes perfect for every room of the house from the mudroom to the living room.
How much does a Ruggable cost?
For a new two-part Ruggable system, prices start at $109 for a 3-by-5 rug and can cost as much as $399 for an 8-by-10 rug.
Are Ruggable rugs too thin?
The majority of Ruggable’s rugs are very flat and thin with a soft, chenille feel and are made from polyester. If you’re looking for a plush, padded option, you may want to give the plush or shag-style rugs a try.
Do Ruggable rugs shed?
While high-pile rugs naturally shed, our Plush Rug Cover has been specifically designed to do so as little as possible. You can expect a few loose fibers from daily use, but shedding will diminish over time.
Can Ruggable rugs go in the dryer?
All Ruggable Rug Covers can fit in a regular washing machine and dryer — even the 8×10!.

Where do Ruggable rugs ship from?
While Ruggables works with certified suppliers in Korea, China, Germany and Mexico, each rug is made-to-order and packaged in Los Angeles or Chicago. Is Ruggable ethical?
Washable. For durable and spill-proof rugs, Ruggable specializes in convenience, but the company also has a clear stand on sustainability and giving back. They make it a point to use recycled materials for their rug pads (over 70% recycled materials) and rugs (over 50% recycled materials).
Why do Ruggables have corner pockets?
Our Rug Cover is designed to be bigger than your Rug Pad. This is to make sure that the Rug Pad stays out of sight once assembled. The corner pockets underneath the Rug Covers have silicone pieces designed to hold the corners down. Do not tuck the Rug Pad in those pockets.
Is Ruggable good for pets?
Yes. Ruggable rugs are designed to be pet-friendly! You can easily clean both the Rug Cover and the Rug Pad (see care instructions) and rinse away stains and odors, including pet hair, dirt, slobber, and more.
How thick is Ruggable?
The combined Ruggable rug covers and pads can be between 0.3″ and 1.6″ thick. Most rugs will be 0.3″ thick. The thickness will depend on the type of cover and pad. Ruggable sells three types of rug covers and two thicknesses of rug pads.
Are Ruggables safe for hardwood floors?
Yes, our Rug Pads are designed using latex-free thermoplastic rubbers in order to be compatible with all common flooring materials. We do recommend periodically vacuuming or sweeping under your Rug Pad to prevent the build-up of dirt, dust, and moisture.
Do Ruggable rugs work with other pads?
You can use an additional classic rug pad with a Ruggable and use it just like you would with a standard rug. We highly recommend doing this to protect your flooring and provide extra padding beneath your Ruggable. You’ll ensure both your Ruggable and your floors last longer.
Can you use Ruggable without pad?
When you purchase the Ruggable system, you will receive a Ruggable rug cover and pad unless you choose the No Pad, Cover Only option on the product page. You might want more than one cover, so you can switch out designs whenever you feel like it. However, Ruggable does not recommend using the cover without a rug pad.
Are Ruggable rug pads washable?
The Ruggable Rug is an easy-to-clean two-piece system. Our removable Rug Cover is 100% machine-washable, water-resistant and stain-resistant.
