What do you use smart vinyl for?

There are two kinds of Smart Vinyl available to use with your Explore 3, Maker 3 or Joy — permanent and vinyl.
Does smart Vinyl need a mat?
Smart Materials need to be at least 4 inches in length to feed through the machine without a mat. For scraps shorter than that, use a cutting mat. Keep in mind that Cricut Joy allows 1 inch of material at the top of your design and 0.5 inches of material at the bottom.
Can you use Cricut smart vinyl on a shirt?

Why won’t my vinyl stick to the transfer tape?
Solution: If your vinyl is not releasing from the transfer tape then your transfer tape may be too sticky! If it’s too sticky, the vinyl will stay on the tape no matter what surface you are applying it to. After about 10-20 minutes, try to pull off the transfer tape again and see if you have better results.
