How do you stick plaster to canvas?
Answer: I recommend using acrylic varnish (My favorite brand is Liquitex Gloss Varnish) to seal the plaster on the canvas once the plaster has dried. The plaster is quite porous (aka “thirsty”) so be prepared to use a fair amount of varnish to “seal” the plaster layer.
How do you stop plaster from cracking on canvas?
It’s a lot like painting on an elastic band. The plaster tends to crack. Personally, I do not consider this a bad thing as long as the plaster does not crack and fall off the canvas. We can prevent this from happening by mixing a 50/50 Plaster/Gel Medium mixture to make the paste more malleable.

Can I use spackle on canvas?
