Question: Does Moving To Draw Step Pass Priority

That article must be referencing the priority given during the UPKEEP step. The Comp Rules explicitly say somewhere that once you move into the Draw step, the active player draws a card. That is a special action that does not use the stack. Then, the active player receives priority after a SBE check.

Can you respond to someone’s draw step?

Yes. The turn based action of drawing happens first before anyone can do anything during the draw step, but the trigger from the Mine can be responded to.

Is there priority on end step?

The end step has no turn-based actions. Once it begins, the active player gets priority. (See rule 117, “Timing and Priority.”).

Can you respond to main phase?

505.5a The main phase is the only phase in which a player can normally cast artifact, creature, enchantment, planeswalker, and sorcery spells. Neither the land nor the action of playing the land is a spell or ability, so it can’t be countered, and players can’t respond to it with instants or activated abilities.

Can you play sorcery after combat?

You may only cast sorceries when it is your turn, during one of your main phases, while the stack is empty. So no you cannot cast them during combat.

Can you play a land on your end step?

From the rules it appears I can play a land on my end step if it’s my only land played this turn. This scenario won’t highly affect my tempo while allowing me to have the two mana land.

Can you play sorcery during end step?

No player can play spells during the cleanup step unless an ability is triggered. Players can play instants during the end step but not sorcery spells.

What is flash in Magic The Gathering?

No. Things do not untap during your upkeep. They untap during your untap step. In the untap step, EVERY permanent you control is untapped, unless something is stopping it.

Can you cast an instant before your draw step?

Yes; you can do it during your upkeep so you don’t lose from attempting to draw a card from an empty library.

Yes – in fact, there’s no window in the Draw Step that you can cast something before they draw, only after. If you want to get them before they draw, it must be in the upkeep step.

No, it is not. Marked damage is removed during the Clean-up step which is at the very end of the turn. Even if you somehow gain priority during the clean-up step there will be another clean-up step immediately after until no actions are taken.

The stack keeps track of the order that spells and/or abilities were added to it. Each time an object is put on the stack, it’s put on top of all objects already there.
