What is the most common type of drawer pull?
Bar Pulls – These tend to be the most common type of pull we see. They work well on most styles of cabinet door, from shaker to more contemporary, because there are almost endless varieties, sizes, and styles available.
How do you stop drawer pulls from turning?
For example: Use handles that take two screws. Put a washer under the head to distribute the load, then make them really tight. Keep them all tight according to a schedule. Only use knobs made of strong wood, and keep them tight. Use knobs that take a machine screw instead of a wood screw.

Determine Size While there is no set rule, we generally recommend that the pull length is approximately 1/3 of the cabinet or drawer width. Small Drawers that are 12” or less typically work best with a pull that is 3” to 4” long or a knob that is 1” in diameter.

Insert the washer over the installation screw. Feed the screw with the washer over the thread from back of the cabinet into the metal attachment of the knob. Tighten the screw with screwdriver from the back of the drawer to hold the knob in place.

What’s an edge pull?
An edge pull is installed on the edge of the door (hence the name) and it has a little handle (or finger pull) that you can pull out when the door is in the pocket.
How do you install finger drawer pulls?
We recommend that finger pulls be installed in line with the corner edge of the door. Obviously, we’ll still be installing the cabinet hardware to the opposite side of the door hinge. However, for upper cabinets, you’ll mount the finger pulls to the bottom corner of the door (all the way to the edge).
Where do pulls go on cabinets?
For both upper and lower cabinets, the pulls should be installed vertically 2 ½ – 3 inches in from the corner of the door. For drawers, they should be installed horizontally in the center of the door. While there is no hard-set rule for the size of your pulls, consider using longer ones on larger drawers and cabinets.

Center of the Stile: Knobs and pulls can be placed halfway up the stile of your Shaker door. Keep in mind you’ll want to be able to reach the handles, since they will be placed higher up along the stile. Just Above or Below the Corners: Place the knobs or pulls 2” to 3” from the lower or upper corner.
Where should Pulls be placed on cabinets?
For pulls (having two screws) on upper cabinets, the pull should be centered horizontally on the door stile and the bottom hole should be placed 2-1/2” up from the bottom of the door. For lower cabinets the upper hole should be placed vertically, 2-1/2” down from the top of the door.
What is the rule of thumb for cabinet hardware?
An oversized cabinet door or drawer needs a large piece of hardware for proper functionality. A good rule of thumb for traditional or transitional style pulls is that they should be about one-third of the length of the cabinet drawer. Drawers larger than eighteen inches wide may require more than one pull or knob.
Do you put pulls on fake drawers?
I would recommend putting pulls on the dummy drawers it allows for consistency. Good design is always consistent. It will also give the illusion that these drawers are not fake. The idea of putting a minimal intrusive towel bar works well because then it will serve more for function then aesthetics.
What size drawer pulls for kitchen cabinets?
There is no right or wrong size to choose, but we do recommend choosing pulls that have at least a 3-3/4″ center to center (the distance between the screw holes). This size looks pleasing on most cabinets, while still being large enough to grip comfortably. 5″ pulls are also an excellent choice.
