You CANNOT use silk as a mist coat. The plasticisers in the emulsion don’t soak in to the plaster and it will end up peeling. You need to use a watered down coat (50/50) of MATT emulsion.
What kind of paint do you use on a mist coat?

What happens if you don’t do a mist coat?
