For UK journeys you’ll need a UK Senior Railcard to receive any senior discounts. There are no discounts on standard fares for senior travellers. Additional senior discounts are available for holders of the Pass Loisir Senior, but we currently aren’t able to offer any French railcard discounts on Rail Europe.

Do Railcards work abroad?
If you live outside of the UK, you are not eligible to buy railcards online. However, you can do so via a registered travel agent or at a UK train station. It should be noted that, in the UK, railcards are valid on all journeys, both at peak and off-peak times.
Do pensioners get free rail travel?

Can you use Railcard before 10am?
You can buy Network Railcard discounted tickets for travel any time on weekends and public holidays or from 10:00am Monday to Friday. You may be able to start your journey a little earlier than 10:00am, see the time restriction easements section for details or check at your local station.
Can you get a railcard if you are over 25?
I am over 25 years old and in full time education – can I apply for a Railcard? Yes. If you are now 26 years old and have an expiring Railcard that was bought online, you will not be able to renew this Railcard.
Can I use my OAP bus pass anywhere in the UK?
Your bus pass is valid for use on all registered Bus services within England, so if you are visiting other places you should be able to use your pass. It is not valid in Wales* or Scotland.
