What should you not use with Corian?
Corian® Solid Surface is unaffected by common household and commercial cleaners such as: Powdered abrasive cleaners with bleach are suitable for matte finishes, use on semi-gloss and gloss finishes may dull the finish. Acid drain cleaners may cause surface damage and should not be used on Corian® Solid Surface.
Why is Corian not popular?
Corian (designed by DuPont) was the first solid surface material to appear on the market. In terms of durability, Corian countertops tend to be more easily damaged by hot surfaces than natural stone. It’s also more prone to scratches than surfaces like quartz and granite.

Can you put a hot pan on Corian?
While Corian® Solid Surface is heat resistant, as with all countertop materials, it is important to minimize direct heat exposure to protect your surface and investment. Important — Do not place hot pots, pans, etc. Always use heat trivets or pads when placing hot objects on any surface.
Is Corian scratch resistant?

Heat marks & scorching Boiling water alone will not damage your Corian® Solid Surface sink. However, it is a recommended practice to run cold water from the faucet while pouring boiling water into the sink. Always use the correct size pan on the burner and place it centrally.
Is Corian better than quartz?
While Corian is not some cheap, easy-to-damage surface, quartz is one of the most durable materials you will find. As long as you take proper care of it, your quartz will stay in great shape for years to come. When it comes to durability, quartz has an advantage over Corian.

How do you get scratches out of Corian?
With the surface still wet, start rubbing the scratched area with a lightly abrasive cleaning pad, using only a light touch. Be careful not to press too hard as you may cause deeper scratches. Rub across the scratch using straight-line motions. Every so often, switch the direction you’re rubbing by ninety degrees.
Can Corian be used on the floor?

Is Corian good for bathrooms?

Will Corian burn?
Heat Resistance Corian countertops are designed to be heat resistant and can tolerate temperatures up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit without sustaining damage. Higher temperatures will damage the countertop, however, as will flame.
Is Corian toxic?
The components of Corian® surfaces are not considered chemical irritants and are rated very low to slightly toxic by inhalation or ingestion. The components of Corian® are bound into the product so there is no exposure from touching or handling the material.
Is Corian heavy?
The product is fragile, heavy and must be handled with care to avoid damage.
Can you sand scratches out of Corian?
There are countertop repair kits with color-coded, micromesh pads designed to sand scratches out of Corian. You can buy them on line, or possibly from your local friendly Corian dealer. Or try wetting the scratched area and sanding with a 400-grit, wet-dry sandpaper.
Does Corian stain easily?
Corian is resistant to stains. It is essentially nonporous, meaning liquids cannot penetrate its surface, and also considered highly hygienic surface and easy to keep clean.
