Many silicone molds can be baked in the oven so you can bake your clay right in the mold. If you purchased a mold, check the packaging or with the seller before baking your polymer clay. If you are not baking in the mold, here are tips on how to remove your polymer clay.
Can you use silicone Moulds for clay?
Polymer clay is one of my favourite clays to use. It’s very durable because when cured the polymers inside fuse together making a kind of plastic. You can bake it in a home oven unlike most traditional clays. You can make molds from it in all kinds of materials (including silicone) without using a mould release.
Is it okay to put silicone molds in the oven?

How do you make clay not stick to the surface?
To prevent clay from sticking to your glass work surface, simply put a thin layer of baby powder, cornstarch or baking soda on it. You can dust it off or rinse your piece from it when it’s already cured. This will also keep your piece from burning.
Does silicone stick to clay?
Silicone rubber is naturally non-stick and a mold release is not needed when using silicone molds. But if you do that, you will quickly find that the clay won’t always fill all the detailed areas of the mold. What does resin not stick to?
Epoxy resin adhesives will bond all woods, aluminum and glass well. It does not bond to Teflon, polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, or Mylar. It bonds poorly to polyvinyl chloride, acrylic and polycarbonate plastics. The only way to tell if an epoxy will bond to a material is to try it.
Do you need to spray silicone molds?
