What do coil spring boosters do?
Coil spring boosters are generally used to compensate for weak or collapsed springs. There is a round rubber insert the size of the spring but it is less effective; it helps to make the spring stiffer but does little to restore the height.
Will coil spring boosters lift my truck?
The coil spring, used in conjunction with a spacer, can change lift height (due to wear or a change in weight), but the spacer will never change height. No change in spring rate: Sometimes, you want to change the spring rate due to added equipment or you want to improve the ride.
Where do coil spring spacers go?
What is a spring/coil spacer? Spring spacers are discs that sit on top of your springs in a coil-equipped vehicle.
How long does it take to install a spacer lift?
For someone that does JK/JL lifts frequently it should not take more than 3 hours. If takes me 2-3 hours from start to finish now that I’ve done that kit a few times(Getting it on the lift, centering the steering wheel etc.)Jul 11, 2018.
What does adding a spring rubber do?
Spring rubbers are a quick, low cost way to make a spring rate changes. By adding rubbers you increase the spring rate as you eliminate the effects of one or more coils. By contrast, you will achieve a lower spring rate by removing the rubber.
Do coil spacers affect alignment?
The answer is yes, no, maybe. If you had it aligned before you put the winch on, then the alignment changed as the front sagged. If you install spacers and put it back to where it was before the winch was installed, then the alignment will be good.
Do I need longer shocks with coil spacers?
Nope I have the Teraflex leveling kit 2″front and 1″ rear and my stock shocks. Most aftermarket shocks will state what size lift they are for, the lowest usually says from 0″ to 2″ of lift, any higher and you may need shock extensions or new shocks all together.
How difficult is it to install a lift kit?
Installing a lift kit is fairly straightforward. However, it’s also time consuming. It takes an experienced professional between 5 to 7 hours to install the kits. A private citizen with some experience working on cars usually takes all weekend.

Can you lift a truck with just struts?
Standard shocks without specialized gas will not lift a vehicle. Shocks that use high-pressure nitrogen could provide about half an inch, but this is a side consequence and not the primary objective.
Do strut spacers increase ground clearance?
When installed, coil spring spacers reduce the expansion and contraction of the coils in a vehicle’s suspension system. As a result, the assisters can increase the ground clearance of a vehicle by around 10-15 mm.
What is the difference between a lift kit and spacers?
Suspension lift kits allow you to raise your truck even higher than body lift kits do. Usually, spacer lift kits only allow you to raise your truck by a few inches. They do not give your truck more ground clearance.
Can you stretch car coil springs?
Yes, a coil spring can be stretched and then shortened increasing it’s rate and maintaining stock ride height, at least for a little while. In order to stretch the coil the steel would have to be stretch beyond it’s yield point. You can also find more information on our Cutting Coil Springs page.
Does coil spring spacer go on top or bottom?
How to Install Coil Spring Spacers Lower axle as far as it will go without falling off the jack. Insert coil spacer on top of spring. Raise the jack very gently until coil spring/spacer assembly contacts both axle and frame in proper location. Re-attach coil spring retainers once you are able to do so.
Are spacer lifts good?
Spacer lifts aren’t bad if you install them correctly, and as long as the spacers don’t lift the truck too high. Issues arise if the spacers are too high, causing issues with suspension. Mild spacer liftsare great for off-road and can even improve the off-road ability.
What are coil spacers used for?
A coil spacer, or budget boost lift as they are often called, uses either a steel or polyurethane spacer to raise the vehicle. These typically sit on top of the vehicle’s existing coil spring and generally go up to 2.5 inches in height.
