What do you use a paint shield for?
Basically, unlike the painter’s tape, paint shields are pretty much meant to do only one thing — catch paint. You would wedge them into the area you want to protect then move your brush or spray the paint across the area.

How do you fix messy paint edges?
Roller marks, or lap marks, can occur if you don’t maintain a wet edge while painting. To restore a smooth finish to the wall, sand down all the uneven areas until they are smooth. Then wipe the walls down completely to remove all dust.
Is it OK to cut in one day and paint the next?
It shouldn’t be a problem. I did the cutting in, as it’s quite fussy work, and my husband rolled the walls the next day. However, remove the tape immediately after you finish the second coat of wall paint. If you wait too long, it’s the pits to remove.
How do I get a perfect line between my wall and ceiling?
Method #1: Using Caulk Place painters tape on the wall, about 1/8″ down from the ceiling. Place a second piece on the ceiling, about 1/8″ out from the wall. Run a line of caulk along the opening in between the two strips of tape. Run a wet finger or ice cube along caulk to smooth. Remove tape immediately.
Can you paint without tape?

Then I lightly drag the angled brush along the side of the trim making sure not to overlap the white part of the trim. Occasionally you may need to switch hands when painting trim because of an awkward angle in your room.
