What items does Salvation Army not take?
In general, the Salvation Army Thrift Stores cannot accept: Any appliances that have mechanical difficulties, missing power cord or is rusty or dirty. Large console model televisions and stereos. Televisions older than 5 years. Built in appliances (Ovens, Stoves, Dishwashers, microwave etc.).
What will arc pick up?
The Arc accepts a variety of donations including clothing donations, household items donations, and even jewelry donations. All donations should be tax-deductible and the charity is responsible for leaving you a tax deduction receipt when your donations are picked up.
What items should not be donated?

All items must be gently used, deemed store salable by the driver, weigh less than 50 pounds and be small enough to be lifted by one driver. We do not accept large furniture (couches, loveseats, beds, dressers, etc.) or built-in appliances or large TVs (flat screens are ok).

How do I donate to Goodwill?
Simply load the clothing you wish to donate into a bag, box or vehicle and head to the Goodwill donation center nearest you. One of our donor greeters will take it from there.
What do thrift stores do with stuff they don’t sell?
Even if every donor takes care to donate responsibly, thrift stores can’t sell everything. The items that don’t sell or are deemed unfit for resale are sent to Goodwill Outlets, where customers can then buy items by the pound.
Do charity shops take cushions?
Damaged pillows and cushions are best given to a charity shop where they sort through old textiles and send them to ‘the rag man’.
Can baby bottles be donated?

We only accept items that are small and light enough for one person to easily lift and carry. No Furniture: Couches, sofas, sleeper couches, box springs, mattresses, desks, large dressers, heavy chairs, etc. cannot be accepted.
Is amvets a nonprofit organization?
AMVETS National Service Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit operating nationally. Our primary goal is to serve American Veterans who served our country. Our National Service Officers help “cut the red tape” when a veteran, or a veteran’s dependent is attempting to obtain compensation and benefits from the VA.
