How do I change the album art on DistroKid?
Yes! You can make edits by visiting your album page, and clicking “Edit Release”. We’ll walk you through everything you can edit from there.
Can you change Spotify artwork after release?
This includes music, album art, and track level information. We have no way to change this data manually, so you’ll need to contact your digital distributor to have them submit a metadata update if any of this information is incorrect.
Do you need artwork for DistroKid?
The minimum size requirement for album art is 1000×1000 pixels. Ideally, album art should be perfectly square, and 3000×3000 pixels. If your artwork is smaller, or rectangular, we’ll automatically fix it for you–but there’s a risk that our fixed version won’t look exactly as you intended.
How long does DistroKid take to process artwork?
All in all, you can expect DistroKid to have your music uploaded to all streaming services and stores within 1 week. However, it can take up to 2 or 3 weeks in some cases.
Can you upload the same song twice on DistroKid?
No. Due to how the streaming services pay, and other complexities, we do not support the same audio recording to be uploaded by more than one DistroKid user. If a song has changed ownership and you’re interested in routing a song’s earnings from one DistroKid account to another, we can do that.
How do I add an artist to DistroKid?
If you just have individual songs on your release that have multiple primary artists, you can list those collaborators in the individual song by clicking the “Add collaborator” button in the songs settings. Under “Song Title” you will see a button that says “Add collaborator”.
Does DistroKid give you ISRC codes?
Yes. An ISRC code is a unique code assigned to each song you upload. DistroKid has been appointed by the US ISRC Agency to assign ISRCs, and will automatically generate new DistroKid ISRC codes for every song you upload.
Is TuneCore better than DistroKid?
DistroKid is much less expensive, and gets your music into streaming services faster. TuneCore charges $49.99 per year per album. DistroKid would charge you only $19.99 per year. DistroKid is an even better deal if you want to upload a lot of singles (1-song albums).

Should I upload WAV or MP3 to DistroKid?
Audio files should be WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC, AIFF, or Windows Media (WMA). If you’re sending a WAV, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz WAV is typical but pretty much anything works. If you have a track that’s larger than that, consider converting it to FLAC format before uploading to DistroKid.
Does Spotify allow nudity on album covers?
Nudity, pornography, and other sexually explicit content isn’t allowed on Spotify.
Does Spotify accept 24bit?
Spotify Community Even though most distributors accept 48kHz sample rate / 24 bit audio or higher, Spotify converts all audio to 44.1kHz sample rate / 16 bit audio (please correct me if this is untrue).

DistroKid does not copyright your music for you or register your songs for copyright, DistroKid simply distributes your music. DistroKid also does not register your music with any publishers or performance rights organizations.
